Shark Power Animal Symbol Of Fearlessness

Sharks medicine includes the hunter, survival, adaptability, Independence, Potential, Adaptation, fearlessness, protection, power, emotional transformation, balance, clairaudience.

Unfortunately, sharks have a bad reputation as being dangerous, fearless and unpredictable. They can ignite a feeling of fear and terror in many people. (I personally have always felt afraid of sharks for some reason!) A full up and single shark is generally pretty peaceful, but in large groups they can be unpredictable and may frenzy.

To those with shark medicine, protection is offered. During our individual lifetimes, we can attract events and people we clash with. If there is a situation in your life that you need to ‘scare away’, call upon shark for help. You will be give by shark the power and confidence to fend off negative elements or get rid of them completely.

Sharks have an extremely acute sense of smell and are able to smell one drop of blood in 50 million times as much water. Having no swim bladder means they can never stop swimming or they would simply sink to the bottom of the ocean. They feel the pressure waves made by a fish in troible and are sensitive to electromagnetic currents. Those with this power animal are taught how to cultivate their own sensory abilities. Studying aromatherapy would be beneficial to those with this medicine.

The shark connects us with the creative element of life – water. Through the ages water has always been linked with emotional transformation. They reveal to us the strength of the currents of our lives and see clearly in the murky waters of the future. Observing the sharks swimming patterns teaches us how to get out of our emotional conflicts efficiently. All fish in general can teach us to adapt to all environments and streamline our lives. A fish swimming down symbolizes the involution of spirit, whilst a fish swimming up is the evolution of the spirit.

A shark in captivity can be trained to do simple tasks such as telling apart certain objects from others in the water, and can recognise the ringing of a bell for a meal. Shark people need time to themselves to remain calm, balanced and centred, or they can turn irritable, anxious and aggressive in demeanour. Meditating, tai chi, yoga and martiual arts for example bring peaxe and balnce of mind. Im not a shark person, but personally i love meditating and also kick boxing.

When shark swims into your life, this often signifies that one of the senses will be awakened – visions, prophetic dreams, or clairaudience is possible. There will be a greater connection with the spiritual realm.

For shark people, staying busy and active is very beneficial. Work-alcoholics often have Shark as a power animal. Those with shark also are often able to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks. They also often have an acute sense of smell – trust what ‘smells’ right.

  1. I personally searched for this out of curiousity in connection to the dream I had about sharks swiming up to me and the one I held transformed into a pendant that I should wear so I inquired to know the deep spiritual meaning of this which led to my search.

    1. This is my go-to site for all animal appearances that feel important – in dreams, or reality or just frequent synchronicity or other perception. It always rings true to compared to may other hit-or-miss sites.

      Sounds cool, John!

  2. I’m glad you mentioned survivor and protection. In my experience shark comes to some of those in abusive situations and can also help with subconscious fears generated after the abuse or attack/s. Shark brings the message of knowing when enough is enough. It may mean you are being bullied. Temperance is also a shark medicine word. Avoid extremes like good/evil or seeing things as black/white. Shark may be letting you know that you have allowed fear to control you. Shark will teach you to be a warrior, survivor and to conquer your fears. Abuse doesn’t always look the same as it is shown to us in the media. Sometimes it is difficult to recognize it within your own life. There are many kinds of abuse: psychic, spiritual, sexual, physical, emotional and mental. Shark will help you take back your power and will fiercely protect you.

  3. From the youngest age, I remember dreaming of sharks swimming around me. Mainly one singular shark. Never an attack. For years, I was afraid of the shark. I misunderstood why the shark has always been with me in my dreams and thoughts from birth. A couple of years ago I got a little sense of real life encounter with sharks on a sea outing snorkeling with rays in French Polynesia. Two came and swam with me and my guide. The were black tips, and they have never attacked a human there. My blood rushed at first, excited! But then peace flooded me as they circled peacefully close enough to touch. They were about six feet long and gorgeous and graceful. I thought of it as conquering my fear, and thought that it was a singular experience.
But there was way more to the journey, way more than I can detail here, spiritually, emotionally; but long story, short, I started training to free dive and have become really comfortable swimming in ocean water. A week ago, I returned to the same spot, with completely different circumstances, desiring to connect with the shark, for power, connection, healing after a recent loss. This time I swam with 20 Black tips and a couple of large lemon sharks. It changed my life journey. Now I realize the shark had always been there to protect, I just wasn’t ready to accept it’s power. Now I am grateful to the spirit of the shark and in return seek to protect sharks as a threatened species in our oceans.

  4. Today I had a real life encounter with what likely was a 6ft shark while surfing. After riding a wave and falling off my board upon its completion I felt a swirling sensation around my legs and was physically bumped by a thick and large mass as I returned to lay on my board the distinct mass of a shark my own size revealed and contourted and I shrieked a guttural panicy cry as I paddled for shore. I felt continued swirling around me as if I were in a whirlpool and my paddling seemed momentarily affected. As I paddled to shore with a heightened sense of urgency and anticipation of a potential attack I paddled passed a young father pushing his son into a wave. I felt the inclination to cry “shark!” But hesitated as what if it had been a dolphin as I had seen a dolphins fin shortly before and so I chose to consider it my own experience but I watched from shore for 15 minutes scanning the water and no incident occurred and no spotting did I experience. But I did see the father push his son onto a wave likely his first and he rode it all the way on to the sand and I smiled at him andsaid “good job!” And he was stoked! And so were all we who had witnessed that magical moment that had I cryed Wolf he may have missed. I only thank God the shark chose not to attack me or that fine boy and we shall live to test the waters yet again thanks be to God.

  6. There are things that happen all around us all the time and we are not aware of. Things jumping from realm to realm, dimension to dimension. I have a very open mind, but with blinders and earmuffs on. I have had them for so long, I have gotten used to them. Instead of using my eyes and ears for information, I am forced to use “ENERGY” for that information. Which I have gotten very good at.
I have seen everything from past lives, past events, wars, planets getting destroyed and I am allowed to remember a lot of it.
Different dimensions with different beings, all with their own special purpose.
Nothing freaked me out more than when I had my first dream of a Great White Shark. Long story short, there was a ship battle, that I was NOT allowed to join in on. So once I was able to go to the fight, it was over. the ship was completely destroyed with wooden parts floating on the sea. I was almost to it, when HE showed up. This big Great White shark rose up from the water enough to SPEAK, and said, “he is close, I can smell him”, then just lazy swam off.
So my first dream of sharks was one that spoke. I have had several others, they do not scare me, but make me feel calmer and relaxed. Like I am at home, even though I might be underwater, in a temple, or wherever, I am taken for my dreams.
As to the meaning, I can only guess at this time. I do have a general idea and know that every person’s dream is unique to them, and may not relate in any way to other dreams.
I just use my feelings and meditate to see if I can uncover my meaning of mine.
Has anyone else had a dream about a shark that spoke?

  7. This is something that I’ve kept to myself for more than 30 years. When living on the West Coast of Canada, I experienced a vision of sorts of a shark. At the time I was living a simple life within a small community of similar souls, exposed to the elements with few modern amenities. The weather with a typical cold and wet evening, with numerous weather fronts forming off shore. While visiting a friend who was an novice wood carver at the time, we spent a quiet evening together. Him focused in his latest work, and me watching and being slowly drawn into the evolving piece that he was working on.
Suddenly I was transported in an instant to somewhere in the ocean, being confronted by a great white shark. As I floated underwater facing this giant predator, I became aware that it could sense or see me as well. It swam away and then circled around me, eyeing me intensely as it did so. Eventually, it turned and swam directly at me, and I became concerned and agitated as it drew closer and closer till…
I found myself once again sitting on the chair in the small workshop, while my friend was still busy carving at his piece of art, none the wiser to what had just transgress and where I had been. I was shaken to the core, wondering what in the hell just happen? Was my mind playing tricks on me or did I just experience a vision?
Over time and many years, I’ve understood it was a vision and why I experienced it. As for it being a shark, it could be my spirit animal or by chance a spiritual connection of two energies. Linking together and me being transported back to its source.
Later I became a fishfarmer and had numerous physical encounters with other creatures in the region, not only of the deep but also those on land and in the air. I did meet hundreds of sharks of a smaller kind(dogfish), but never a great white. I hope one day to return to this place and replay the events to see if I can once again experience a truely eye-opening experience that its effect still resonates even today.
