Throughout history dogs have been known as guardians, protectors and most importantly – MANS BEST FRIEND. Dog was the servant/soldier that guarded the tribe’s abodes, protecting them from surprise attacks. His keen sense of smell and acute hearing alerted his master of dangers. He also assisted when hunting and provided warmth in winter.
The dogs medicine is loyalty, reliability, nobleness, trustworthiness, unconditional love, friendship, fierce energy of protection and service. People who have Dog as power animal are usually helping others or serving humanity in some way and have a deep understanding and compassion of human shortcomings. Dog serves selflessly, never asking for their service to be praised or anything in return. He is sensitive and intelligent. From him we can learn the true meaning of unconditional love and forgiveness. Domestic dogs are faithful companions to humans with a strong sense to serve. Their ability to love even when abused is incredible. Psychic gifts have been associated with Dog because of his talent to pick up on subtle energy frequencies generally unknown to mankind. Like other animals they can feel for instance if an earthquake is about to occur, and can lead us to safety, if we trust them like they trust us.
If the Dog has found you then this may be telling you that you are good at protecting, looking after and helping others. Maybe this is showing you that you are infinitely devoted to those nearest and dearest to you, feeling content serving others and being their when someone close to you needs you. Acts out of kindness and love are far more meaningful to you than material things.
There IS a risk of however of people trying to take advantage of you because of your good natured-ness. Dog can be a reminder that you should always be loyal and truthful to yourself too, your own best friend. Love yourself, by having self respect and self value you can be of great assistance to those that respect and value what you can give them.
On the other hand, this could be telling you that you need to be more like the dog. Ponder this. Do you need to be more loyal and trustworthy to family and friends? Or even to yourself? Study the characteristics of the breed of dog that has come into your life – e.g. is it a hunter, a protector, a companion or playful? Each of these qualities will give you insight into the qualities needed or present in your life. Wolves and coyotes are Dogs descendants/relatives and therefore these should be studied as well.
A dogs behaviour often mirrors the personality of its owner. If you own a dog, they are constantly observing you and his/her interaction with you. They then anticipate your next move, serving as a mirror image of who you truly are. The dog is a great teacher for those who wish to learn.
Could you tell me what it might mean if
I was bitten by a dog, a boston terrier?
t just means the dog was being a sassy brat. It isnt a message from spirit. Perhaps it should be one to the owners to exercise and fufill the dogs needs…its likely out of balance and/or in need of boundaries and a trustworthy leader to give him what he needs
Ive always had a ver close connection with dogs. Seem to be able to read them i know what they are thinking. They are in my dreams quite often. Right now i do not have a dog companion and i feel almost lost and desperate to share the relationship i know i love…i dont meditate but i know for sure dogs are my power animal indo not feel strongly about any other animal…i love all animals…but none quite like my k9 friends

I’m a dog person but there are certain dogs I really don’t like. One of those dogs are dachshunds. I think they are loud and annoying but for some reason dachshunds absolutely love me. They wont leave me alone. Why could that be?
Loud and annoying dogs are dogs without solid boundary-setting humans. They may love their dogs deeply, but have not given the dog a feeling of being protected, so they take it on themselves. Since it’s such a bigger job for little dogs, they tend to be yappers and aggressive. Love the doggie and let them know some great boundaries. I tell my new rescue doggies that I take care of everything, and that the only things they have to do are eat, sleep, walk and snuggle. It will take time for them to trust, but when they do, not a yip will utter from a former-snarler.
Everytime I walk outside and a dog recognize me yells or growls. The strange thing it was only a few time ago. Last time I was in a shop and they had like a shop dog. The dog came at me and ignored my friends and he wanted that I follow him. I feel connected to them and many dogs are looking at me like they want to say something to me.
Encounter with nieces boyfriend’s boxer dog who somehow fell in pool and was startled and terrified. Was treading water frantically
But was tiring quickly. I sensed dog was in trouble. I was able to help hoist dog up and get out of pool. At this moment niece came running and screamed. So happy to help this dog who is such a loyal companion to its owner although learned dog is a handful and they cannot spend much time with dog. Dog is crying out for attention is many ways.
This played out as a waking dream. Any thoughts on this aspect of encounter.
Lately I’ve been going through a rough time and I have prayed for some kind of sign or guidance to help guide my intuition through it. Last night I dreamed I woke up in the middle of the night & there was a really big white dog sitting next to my bed, facing forward, as if protecting me or standing guard. After seeing the dog I felt peace and went back to sleep. After this, I had another dream in which everything was solved and I was happy and had everything I wished & prayed for. What could this mean? Was the dog a Spirit Guide? A sign?
I recently came across a friends dog and she was talking to me in such an animated way! She kept coming back to me to talk, lean into me, give me kisses. My friends were shocked because this dog (a brown and white husky with blue eyes named Ariel) had never acted this way before. How would you interpret this?
I have for a few years now been working with dogs in my art, but don’t really understand why… It started in a bout of sadness and lack of control in my life (without stable apartment situation, in a semi-malfunctioning long distance relationship) – the dogs came to me in drawings and gave some comfort, but now I don’t really know… still have problems in my life, but now the dogs make me more anxious, as if not guiding me, but attacking me (not in a violent way)
What are your thoughts on this?
