Kinkajou Power Animal Symbol Of Connection To Mother Earth

By Ina Woolcott

Kinkajou’s gifts include – connection to mother earth, leaps of faith to unknown places, ability to grasp thoughts and concepts out of reach of others, gentleness, ability to see in the dark, connection to the plant kingdom, fertility, intelligence

The kinkajou is a relative of the raccoon family. They can be told apart by their long, prehensile tail which is used for grabbing/grasping. With their large eyes that reflect their inquisitiveness and their low set rounded ears that are acutely harmonised to the sound waves within the element of mother earth and the fact that they can feel the delicate vibrations travelling through the earths crust, there are some cultures who believe the cute kinkajou has the ability to predict upcoming earth changes.

The kinkajous response to subtle vibrational frequencies is an indication that within these frequencies lie the mysteries of new beginnings. This reflects back to you if kinkajou has appeared in your life – anticipate that a new beginning in some aspect of your life is close by.

The kinkajou will teach you to hear what’s really being said and will help you in developing your inherent 6th sense. Kinkajou people should use their minds in an exploratory way, especially in the exploration of sound used to heal.

The highly intelligent kinkajous generally live alone or in pairs, spending nearly all their time up in trees and hardly ever leaving them. Their diet consists of fruit, honey, mammals and small birds. Their tiny digestive systems are unable to tolerate heavy foods. If this is your power animal, you would benefit from retreating frequently to replenish mind, body and soul. Spend time in forests, stay in tune with nature. Also, eating whole grains, fruit and vegetables would benefit you.

The mysteries of life intrigue the kinkajou, and they are highly curious and love to investigate, often ending up in unusual positions. On the other hand they can be timid and hide. An enraged or scared kinkajou may bite. If this is your power animal, don’t use biting words when provoked. Part of kinkajous gift id balanced action and reaction.

Kinkajous are sometimes kept as pets and if treated kindly will return the favour.

Whale Power Animal Symbol Of Wisdom Record Keeper For Eternity

By Ina Woolcott

The whale’s gifts includes – record keeper for all eternity, power of song, all knowledge associated with voice, all aspects of the sea, beauty of movement, psychic and telepathic abilities, wisdom, provider, inner depth.

Using the rhythm and patterns of sound, the whale teaches us to hear our inner voices, to be in touch with our personal truths, thus knowing wisdom and feeling the heartbeat of the universe.

You will be shown how to go deep within yourself to stir your inner creativity and imagination. You will also be taught not to become too lost in your imagination but to live in the ‘real world’ – every day waking reality.

Give your own creative intuition to formulas – this is what charges them with power and magic. The whale does not teach creativity for the sake of creativity. A deep, creative inspiration is awakened, but you must add your own colour and light to your outer life to make it glorious.

The whales sound teaches us how to create with song. Along with dolphins, whales are the other sentient beings of our planet. They too are self-aware and have souls. Accordingly to some teachings, they are on their 4th cycle, while most of mankind is on its 11th or 12th cycle.

Personally I think that EVERYTHING has a soul, not just ‘sentient beings’. All animals, plants, as well as the so called ’non-living matter’ like rocks I believe have their own consciousness/soul and are experiencing being a rock, or a stick. Just like some people believe that stones/precious stones have to be asked to be taken out of the earth, why ask if they are just dead, non living matter? They must have a certain level of consciousness to know that they even want to be in the ground, or wherever they may be!

Ant Power Animal Symbol Of Team Work Oneness And Patience

By Ina Woolcott

When observing ants it is easy to see some of the special characteristics, or ‘powers’ they have. Ants are very industrious. There are ants that are solitary but most are part of a large community. Within the community there is a wide variety of activities and behaviours, with each ant knowing its place and fulfilling its duties with total loyalty to the whole. Each ant does his bit to ensure the survival of the whole community, no matter what role it has in society. Activities include gathering and hunting. They work hard, are patient and co-operative. An ant is able to carry a leaf, a crumb or a dead ant for miles – just to get back home to the anthill, requiring a load of stamina and patience. If an ant has to fight, it will, if an ant has to dig tunnels, it will, and if an ant has to carry leaves for miles, it will, all for the good of the community. As well as being extremely hard working they possess an extraordinary ability to work as a team – the power of their medicine – to build their homes, to feed and protect all members of their colony. There may be a social order in ant colonies, but all ants honour and respect each other and work toward their common goal – the good of the community. Worker ants are great architects and can show us how to construct our dreams into reality. They are also very persistent and can teach this skill as well. Queen ants have wings and are able to fly until they fall pregnant. Once pregnant they tear of their own wings sacrificing the ability to fly for the birth of a newborn.

If the ant has crossed your path then this may be an indication that you are hardworking, good at team work, working to help the community, or that you are patient and take the time needed to achieve your goals. Being tireless workers and hunters, ant teaches us the trait of perseverance and patience in ALL they/we do. These gifts can also be utilised by us. Those who have Ant as Power Animal, will find that many of their life lessons will involve the mastery of patience in some way. Ant medicine is powerful, yet subtle. It teaches us how to let go of our egos, aligning us with the uprightness of equality. For sure the world would be a happier place if humanity held and utilised the virtues of ants. Imagine what the world would be like if humanity held and applied the values that the ant expresses. Hard work and patience, which come with the power of the ant, make goals and dreams a reality.

If any of the above seem like your weak points, this may indicate that you need to work on this. Perhaps you need to practise the special qualities an ant possesses – co-operating, working with others or patiently working towards your goals. If you intentionally murder or maim an ant e.g. by stepping on it, question yourself why it is that you are deciding to destroy the unconditional love that the ant so freely gives and shares.

Dog Power Animal Symbol Of Loyalty Friendship Unconditional Love

By Ina Woolcott

Throughout history dogs have been known as guardians, protectors and most importantly – MANS BEST FRIEND. Dog was the servant/soldier that guarded the tribe’s abodes, protecting them from surprise attacks. His keen sense of smell and acute hearing alerted his master of dangers. He also assisted when hunting and provided warmth in winter.

The dogs medicine is loyalty, reliability, nobleness, trustworthiness, unconditional love, friendship, fierce energy of protection and service. People who have Dog as power animal are usually helping others or serving humanity in some way and have a deep understanding and compassion of human shortcomings. Dog serves selflessly, never asking for their service to be praised or anything in return. He is sensitive and intelligent. From him we can learn the true meaning of unconditional love and forgiveness. Domestic dogs are faithful companions to humans with a strong sense to serve. Their ability to love even when abused is incredible. Psychic gifts have been associated with Dog because of his talent to pick up on subtle energy frequencies generally unknown to mankind. Like other animals they can feel for instance if an earthquake is about to occur, and can lead us to safety, if we trust them like they trust us.

If the Dog has found you then this may be telling you that you are good at protecting, looking after and helping others. Maybe this is showing you that you are infinitely devoted to those nearest and dearest to you, feeling content serving others and being their when someone close to you needs you. Acts out of kindness and love are far more meaningful to you than material things.

There IS a risk of however of people trying to take advantage of you because of your good natured-ness. Dog can be a reminder that you should always be loyal and truthful to yourself too, your own best friend. Love yourself, by having self respect and self value you can be of great assistance to those that respect and value what you can give them.

On the other hand, this could be telling you that you need to be more like the dog. Ponder this. Do you need to be more loyal and trustworthy to family and friends? Or even to yourself? Study the characteristics of the breed of dog that has come into your life – e.g. is it a hunter, a protector, a companion or playful? Each of these qualities will give you insight into the qualities needed or present in your life. Wolves and coyotes are Dogs descendants/relatives and therefore these should be studied as well.

A dogs behaviour often mirrors the personality of its owner. If you own a dog, they are constantly observing you and his/her interaction with you. They then anticipate your next move, serving as a mirror image of who you truly are. The dog is a great teacher for those who wish to learn.

Koala Power Animal Symbol Of Deep Relaxation And Concentration

By Ina Woolcott

Koala’s powers include ability to climb over obstacles, recognising the value of slow movement, ability to remain above the fray, the power of yoga, helpful advice giver, deep relaxation and concentration.

The koalas cute and cuddly looks makes them is one of the most loved marsupial mammals to people of all ages.

They grow 50-84cm tall and have just about no tail. They eat a certain kind of eucalyptus leaf, and hardly drink.

It is thought that koala means ‘no drink’ in some aboriginal languages. As their diet is sluggish this paves the way for a sluggish digestive system. Koala people who eat a wide variety of foods may experience digestive problems, therefore basic foods are recommended with more herbs and herbal remedies.

The koala is very independent and very apathetic toward family members. Born about the size of a bee, the baby koala is brought up by the mum attentively, but once strong enough the kids are on tehri own. The bond between mother and child is severed. Koalas are very territorial, demanding their personal space and tolerate each other accordingly. They sleep up to 18 hours a day, with the most activity happening at night. Koala people work the best in the late evening and early morning hours. They also frequently require time away from everyone and everything and little noise is tolerated. Close relationships can be a bit of a challenge due to the difficulty in expressing emotions. However, the koala shows us how to be comfortable with our own company.

Though they have bad eyesight, the koalas cup-like ears are able to hear acutely, and they have an acute sense of smell. Those with this power animal possess strong psychic and clairaudient powers. Soothing sounds and aromatherapy are beneficial to these people.

Perched high up in a tree, the koalas grip is secure and as they move across the branches, their footing is solid. Koala reminds us to stand solid within ourselves and not to be affected by occurrences.

Koalas are hardly ever distracted and are always focused- they are masters in the art of deep relaxation and concentration. They teach of stress free movement and can show us how to manifest sacred space in our lives.

Power Animals Companions On Your Spiritual Journey

By Ina Woolcott

“When you call upon the power of an animal, you are asking to be drawn into complete harmony with the strength of that creature’s essence. Gaining understanding from these brothers and sisters of the animal kingdom is a healing process, and must be approached with humility and intuitiveness. Certain aspects of the lessons given by these brothers and sisters have been chosen to reflect the lessons each spirit needs to learn on the Good Red Road. These are the lessons of being human, being vulnerable, and seeking wholeness with all that is. They are a part of the pathway to power. The power lies in the wisdom and understanding of one’s role in the Great Mystery, and in honouring every living thing as a teacher.” Jamie Sams and David Carson (Medicine Cards)

Wisdom Will Bite If You Ignore It

Submitted by Deniz Keller, İzmir,Turkey

As a seeker of wisdom and truth I have been drawn to visit the ancient sites and temples in Turkey.

November 9,2011, I had the opportunity to travel and visit the amazing site called “Göbeklitepe” located in Urfa. Just before 11.11.11. The discovery of this place has changed the course of history. It is said to be 8000 years older than the pyramids in Egypt. There are videos on youtube if you wish to check it out or check the archive of National geographic…

I will now tell you about my journey to Göbeklitepe and the Spider that brought me wisdom with a bite.

It was a beautiful sunny day which gave us the opportunity to stay longer at the on going excavations . The Feminine energy there is very strong so I wanted to take the opportunity to meditate, connect with our ancestors and receive any wisdom that may be gifted to me that day.

I sat beside a wooden pole and rested my hand upon it as I began to prepare for meditation. I realized a spider crawling towards my right hand in between my thumb and pointing finger. I Moved my hand because I thought it might bite me. However,I felt that this spider had a significance since it fully caught my attention. After a few minutes I went in to meditation and right after continued to go around the site. An hour later our tour guide came over and told me that it was time to get on the bus and travel to the next city which we would be sleeping overnight. By that time,I had forgotten about the spider.

We arrived at the hotel, had dinner and went to our rooms to sleep.

In the morning I woke up with a light burning and itching sensation on my right hand. With a great surprise, I realized that I had been bit by a spider exactly at the same place where the spider at Göbeklitepe excavation was about to crawl on to. The spider sure was insistant to give me a message and this time I could not ignore it!

I began searching for answers. I sat in front of my computer and googled power animals. A site popped up on “Shamanism” and I was guided to ask for information. I wanted to ask someone that would give me insight about the spider but I also wanted to know if there would be an additional message.

As they say: “Ask and thy shall receive”.

Here is Viola’s email response to me:

Hi there Deniz

“Thanks for your mail and for sharing your beautiful story.

If a spider has entered your life, it’s showing you something and it has come to teach you something about the web of life. Spiders are very delicate and detailed. Have you ever looked at a spider web properly? Isn’t it just perfect and precise?

It sounds like as if there are changes to come in your life or you may already be in the process. Funny enough, I too have a spider ‘issue’ right now. I see them everywhere, in all sizes in and out the house, my car, shops, friends. There is a big message there for me as for the things that are happening in my life right now. The message the spider brings is personal and only you will understand what the message is. I am sure you have read our article already, but just in case here is the link.”

I read the article about the spider and reflected on Viola’s words that guided me to focus on the web of life. I imagined a web of light around the world and a spider connecting all parts of the web together. People, information, energy fields, etc. At that moment, I knew I had to meditate and pray to receive further wisdom by asking what does this all mean for me? What is the missing piece of the puzzle? What is the message? I then thought of the bite and started laughing. Was I to turn in to Spider woman? Perhaps I should call spider man in Hollywood and tell him his female companion has arrived ha ha ha! Silly me!

I then took deep breath and began meditating and calling my guides to help me receive answers to all of my questions. Below is the wisdom I have received:

“The sacred places I have been visiting is reactivating the sacred spots within me causing me to embody the sacredness and I am to share it. Combining the old with the new and weaving a new web of life like the spider(many changes are coming and very quickly so must be prepared). Blending the old with the new and making it more digestible and appropriate for the now…creating a new web by “RESTORING JOY!” (confirming for me to keep sharing by raising the vibration of joy and laughter. (One of the things I teach is stress management and Laughter Yoga). Coming full circle in balance of the masculine and feminine. Through love, joy and wisdom all differences, separateness etc. are dissolving.

We who witness the love and gifts of spirit, witness them with our words and life. That this may be for the joy and encouragement to others in faith.”

Footnote: Thank you Viola for sharing your wisdom about the spider and guiding me to focus on the web of life. It helped me to receive more awareness for my life purpose. I will not ignore another animal that comes my way. They bite me if I do ;-). Can u imagine if I encounter a tiger or a bear??? No! I shall not ignore them!!! 😉

Happy to connect in the web of life and unity! I appreciate your light and wisdom.

All for Love and Love for all to RESTORE JOY!
